97 WRX fuel pump v 2005 Sti
i have just removed my 97wrx fuel pump, it seams much bigger then the 2005 sti unit i bought from ebay (i think the 2005 pumps were removed for the ppp or sumthing?)
are the newage pumps smaller due to better technology?
the pump is the same legnth, but the diameter of the pump is much less.
any confirmation that this is the case, the wireing is slightly diffrent also, although it will hook up
bare connections inthe the fuel tank scare me

don't worry about the size (what the missus says anyhows?!?), the only problem you'll have is a slight difference in the orientation of the fuel lines from pump to pump!!

the wireing didnt fit, i had to join the wires (clever spade connector adjustments!)
the rubber seat that the pump sat on near the bootm didnt fit, i trimmed it to fit with a sharp blade (and chopped my finger)
i was actualy scared when i connected all the power back up and had one of the lads standing ready with a jetgun incase it blew me up
"put me out before the car if it blows up dan" (well he was bound to put the car out before me )
fired up fine, drobe down the road, fueling on full boost is actualy what its supposed to be (mines always been a touch lean?) its now hitting 895mv @ 1.4bar on the vf23 and seams to drive a lot more "crisp", plus the top end stuff has vastly improved IMO
could really do with the correct rubber seat thing i suppose, bargin for what its cost me tho!
