Angry Engine issues ('What to do') ?

Not long into scooby (well turbo) ownership and already having issues . The head gasket is on the way out (MY94) .. So was thinking about a few things
these mainly being :
the car has covered 75k(miles)so would it be worth getting

the gasket replaced
or
Sourcing a low km engine

Must mention here in ireland im gonna get screwed anyway......... But I was pricing engines in the north and for a few quid extra could get a low km fitted but a few things are bugging me

1. could fit a new engine but whats to say the gasket wont go again soon after fitting ( Guess its the chance to take) Wondering if they will be changed/tested etc or whats the test process ?
2.get the gasket replaced, but the mileage is on the up on the orignal engine

Not interested in 2.5 conversions etc (insurance Reasons)

What to do
What to do.
If any one has links/ contact details of engine suppliers/ people able to do the above work in the republic ........... would be great.
Cheers
