Default Most common oils leaks on classics???

Picked up a 1994 UK spec classic on the weekend for a song. Needs a new G box and its got an oil leak thats dripping onto the manifold.

Any ideas on what the most common places to look for the leak are?

I.E, Cam cover gaskets, rear oil seal etc???

Cheers for any info :-)

Rocker cover gaskets are by far the most common, oil drips onto the headers and give you that tell tale sign of smoke out of the bonnet

Speak to Alyn at AS Performance for rocker cover gasket sets, iirc about £30 a side. It is very common, which reminds me I must look at mine

Also crankshaft pulley seal but that usually just drips in the middle and blows back down the centre of the underside.

Cheers for the replies :-)

I hope its not a front crank pully seal as I've got the box out this weekend and I was going to do the rear one :-/

Well can't complain for 2k and it came with a pace intercooler!

Thanks again

Scoob dealer times are 9 hrs per head or 12hrs for both. Its an engine out job as usual. Cost including parts I was quoted between 1300 to 1400 quid on a JAP spec. OUCH!
