Default my mates scooby classic

my mate has just bought a scooby classic on a t, everything about the car is mint, interior is pristene etc etc, it does however have high miles, around 90k, but we didnt see that as an issue as it also has a full subaru service history, but ive noticed when he drives it u can here a sort of whine whistely niose, now ive had a few scoobs myself, but his is bog standerd, ie, pee shooter twin pipe exhaust, whereas the ones i had had prodrive, scoobysport etc exhausts on and u couldnt here much other than them, is it wastegate chatter ?? turbo ?? gears ??
hes noticed it but were clueless as to wot it is, the car runs and drives great
any clues

If its a deep whistle, like someone blowing over a bottle, it could be the dumpvalve leaking.

Or leaking gaskets pre turbo tend to whistle too

It could just be the turbo spooling up, the car may indeed look std, but if the airbox resonater has been removed you start to hear a lot more (normal) turbo noise.

thanks for that jay, i was wondering myself whether it was the turbo spooling up as it only seems to come when in boost
cheers
