Fuel Starvation- is uprated pump the answer
Have read a lot about no2 cylinder running lean when the car is being used enthusiastically. As I sprint the car I want to avoid this so having uprated the fuel pump will this be sufficient or do I need to call a plumber to rework the fuel plumbing. What exactly needs to be done.

It's Number 3 cylinder that's most likely to run lean due to it being the last injector in a "series" configuration.
You can easily convert your injector rails to a "parallel" layout to give a more balanced fuel volume/pressure to all the injectors.
As above, take a look at 911's Project thread...there's some useful info. there

STI:
When racing i have to keep a 1/2 full tank in the car to avoid starvation.
The parallel fuel line 'conversion' is easy once you grasp why it's needed and how to achieve it!
You will find lots of detail in my thread.
Will still need 1/2 a tank, but at least each cylinder will be fed evenly.
Where do you sprint?

As Graham states
Either run with at least 1/2 a tank with parallel fuel rails or surge/swirl pot, 2nd pump and parallel fuel rails. If you change the pump retain the orginal filter sock.
I really noticed starvation when first running at lydden with 1/4 of a tank.

Hi,
Will do a search for your thread about the conversion, I am off to Wexford in April after which we go to Curborough, Llandow, Pembrey, Llys-y-Fran ,Wiscombe Park , Aintree and Three Sisters- we have spoken before . It would be a good idea to have a section on Members cars being put to good use.

I think you might get flamed for the comment "Good use"
Scoobynet is an excellent resource for those looking to competitively race on a private track
People like Graham & Andy F.. etc are always available to give good advice.

I've done Llandow in the Sti, be sure to have 1/2 tank as there are 2 fabulous and l o n g bends....
Fried my brakes, shattered my N/S front tyre and found out how good the Whiteline mods were!
Three Sisters in the 911, what a blast!!!!
Hate Curb though, but ran a 34 many times in the 911, slower in the Scooby!
We ARE mad.

Please accept my apologies for the using "Good Use" no insult implied brain not in gear.
Did a Porsche track day once lots of fun but saw the Castle Combe Rally Day first time around where Subarus and Evos were on show, I am sure it was their track ability that pushed me into Subaru Ownership,

Anti-surge is easy:
1
Buy an MRT kit 'in tank' solution, just like the Sti solution
2
Place Power Station swirl pot in engine bay, use the stock pump to fill it. The device has an external high pressure pump to supply the engine from the 1 litre (or so) capacity swirl pot.
This is more than enough to keep the car going while you are fully committed to the bend
Just costs £450 + fitting!
Carman had this in his killer RA for hill climbing on 1/4 tank or less.
