If you had.....
..... £800 to spend on a Classic Impreza, what would you buy??
If it was totally standard, what would you spend the money on??
Would you do bodywork or wheels or concentrate on engine mods??
Cheers,
Grant

Decat downpipe, Dawes, resonator removal from the wing, panel filter, 4 pot brakes with good pads and fluid (if you don't have them already), P1 suspension. If you hunt second hand you should manage that lot?

I for one agree with John! All show and no go I not what these cars are designed for! Plus your love of the "bling" will disappear once you kerb the first wheel! - You'll never tire of the power the mods John recommends give you!

IMHO:
As per J Banks, but I would 'Whiteline' the suspension at the SAME TIME.
We know that setting a budget on modding a Scooby is a silly thing to rely on, but I would keep the 16's and fit some really good tyres, the saving on the wheels will pay for the tyres.(although UK Dave's car looks a treat)

Cheers mate,my philosophy is get as much done with the looks before something breaks, and it will so that you`re not spending a fortune on a car that still looks standard and boring,if summat goes now thats expensive im not too bothered,if you`re on a budget with an impreza theres nothing worse than throwing money at it that you cant see!!

What sort of de-cat downpipe would give the biggest gains and how much would I be looking at for a new & used one??
Does a Dawes Device not cause boost spiking as a bleed valve does, would it not be wiser to get an electronic boost controller?? (more expensive I know)
The car I have got has got a Walboro Pump, 440 Injectors and soon to have a Blitz NUR Spec, Blitz SUS Induction Kit as the only "engine mods" so I assume that fitting a Downpipe wouldnt cause it to run lean due to uprated pump & injectors??
Are 2-pots REALLY that bad?! lol

if it were me i would get a full scoobysport system with full decat.
If you have a classic 1993-1995 i would uprade to a z4 ecu too.
Knock link too. It should be the start of any engine mods that you plan.
That lot should cover the 800 and maybee a little more.

jerry 555, resonator removal refers to removing the intake snorkus in the inner wing that leads to the airbox. It is quite restrictive as demonstrated by water manometry testing of Subaru inlet tracts (on the Legacy in one test it was responsible for about 50% of the pressure drop in the whole inlet tract, you want as high to atmospheric pressure as possible at the inducer of the compressor wheel, otherwise your turbo does more work with lots of knock on power sapping consequences). Worth using a decent panel filter with this as more debris may get into the airbox as a result.
