Assuming his PPP had the uprated fuel pump when PPP ing (should have done) - that would be an upgrade for you. More giving you some headroom should you want to tune past ~300bhp safely rather than improving things a lot if you've just got the PPP. Also, you'd potentially need an uprated fuel regulator to handle the higher flow from the uprated pump.
There should be pretty much nothing in it regards gasflow etc through the backbox.
Edit to clarify - the above assumes you're talking about fitting the STi PPP fuel pump, and the STi PPP backbox. If you're talking about fitting the standard STi backbox, it will be worse than the WRX. The standard STI fuel pump IIRC is no improvement

The guy at the local dealership reckoned that the PPP on the wrx was - backbox, fuel pump and intercooler pipe. Interesting. I bought the car with it on so I dosent really matter but still, he should get his facts right.

the guy at the dealership is talking bollox
the wrx ppp does not get a fuel pump
the pump would be an upgrade i dont think it would require to much tunning
if your buying it be aware that there a good few of these about and go for no more than about 40 quid although they would be a couple of hundred if you bought one from subaru
