Default whining sound

I have an my95 wrx, it has a whining sound almost like a belt or something, it can't be the gear box as it happens out of gear and with clutch depressed. But you will prob hear my whine as much as you can hear my engine coming. Any ideas?
regards

The turbo on my sti 5 whines loudly, apparantly it's the roller bearing. Does it change with the revs?
