Its a MY00 P1
I'm not in the postion to get all the mods, sisters wedding coming up so would prefer to do it in two stages. Second remap I have been told is a lot less than the initial one.

Has anybody tried the Hyperflow TMIC instead of a bigger FMIC
Its 2.14 bigger than standard and a lot cheaper than a FMIC...looks good too and it's a bar and plate design

Anybody any comments

Also, how do you define 'best' ? If its 'easiest to fit', DONT go for the hybrid - I'm not saying its too difficult, just not the easiest...
For Price and effectiveness, I've found it well worth the fitting trouble, but not everyone wants to cut the bumper up etc....
Just thought it was worth mentioning..

Best in terms of performance and cost. As long as I don't lose my AC or driving lights i'm happy.
Is there a problem with lag after you fit a FMIC or can you map for that?
Thanks

I have an MRT TMIC on order from Jap Innovations. It's not cheap but is meant to be pretty good and saves the hassle of fitting a FMIC. I just need a Miltek STi 8 scoop for my classic now

Not me Scoobyboy, I'm based near Heathrow. Wouldn't mind that plate though, pity there ain't no way to get in touch with him.
Will check out the MRT intercoolers, cheers Theo

My car made 350bhp with the Original STI5 TMIC, with pretty much identical mods to those you have listed in the first part of this thread!! (MY00 P1 too!)
(Don't forget you will need a Catch Tank, Plugs, and change the Inlet pipe to turbo IMHO too)
The only difference was I am still on the OE ECU using ECUTEK software mapped by BRD. Have changed to a Hyperflow FMIC now, and getting re-map this weekend, so should see that 350bhp rise a little after!

I made my own using 63mm Samco, and alloy tubing! All it cost me was the samco hose (around £20-25) and the welding of the alloy tubing which SPEC-R did for me!
Wouldn't let myself pay thru the nose for a Samco/MRT type hose!

300 FT/LB. That was @ G-Force rollers on a RR day earlier on this year.(1.3bar boost held on plain Optimax)
Have changed a few parts since then, FMIC, Induction tract etc, and will have the car mapped again Saturday. Hoping for a little under 400bhp depending on rollers etc. (Wouldn't like to exceed 350FT/LB as I still have OE STI5 type gearbox!)
