Question 350 lb ft from Blob STI as daily driver

How far can we go reliably without increasing lag more than improved PPP mapped lag, -- base car will be std STi, -- 05 import considered if engine any better

Would love around genuine 350 lb ft with sensible cost upgrades - ie if 340lb ft cost £800 and 355lb ft costs £3000 - I will get buy with 340....!

I am surprised people have stated that the WRX can easily go over 300 - how far will STi go reliably for under £2k mods - I appreciate TSL T333 is an option - although I have heard a few reportts at it not being quicker than PPP and someone tested one apparently at c 300 bhp...

Is a 350bhp x 350lb ft practical and durable anybody?

I would have thought a twin scroll import would be a good base. Then get the correct breathing mods, 3 port soloniod, KL and a remap for £2k, not sure if you need a better fuel pump on the 05 models.

Bob Rawles thread in Projects makes very interesting reading for a person in your position

If you don't want too much lag then definitely go for a twin scroll import. Litchfields claim about 320bhp for a remapped JDM STI with just an exhaust swap

The Boost Control Soloniod (BCS), all Impreza turbos have them - the very early types have a 3 port BCS and the later ones have a 2 port BCS. Its not essential but certain mappers prefer the earlier type - I presume better boost control at higher boost levels?
