Default Type R Gearbox

Hi Guys/Gals

Looks like I am getting a Sti5 Type R. It has had a gearbox change to a non DCCD one. I am wondering what the new Box could be, STI, Wrx Etc..
What are the thoughts of you wonderfull lot :

Thanks Mark...

Not really, doesn't the seller know?
Make sure its not a non-sti type r that didn't have the dccd anyway being sold as an sti.

EXACTLY !! It could be a WRX 2 door which were sold in hundreds in Japan, I've had 2 and the're great, just that you don't get any of the STi bits on it and thus is a cheaper car.

Get the applied model code off the chassis plate and post it on here and we'll all soon tell you what the car really is.

as long as they have "matched" the diff ratio's front and rear it could be any gearbox type......................you can mix and match at will with a little effort...........

The Box is a V5 Sti so no problems with the diffs. Took it for a drive and it was great.
