Default Noisy injectors...

Does this happen? How can i confirm it is them?

My MY00 has just started to sound like a tractor thanks to what i think is the injectors.

It needs an oil change as well so i was wondering what i could do to help the situation.

83k BTW

Ollie

Could be time for the valve clearances to be checked?

could be the old oil and the top end tapping not the injectors.. no idea of the valve shim arrangement on the MY00.

TRy and full syntheric oil like Motul 15W50..

Could be the boost control solenoid resting against the off side suspension turret, the clicks it makes passing into the cabin? I had that, very noisy!

Bent it away a few mm and all was quiet.

Mine got very tappety at around 100k.. this a 96 car btw.

I tried Mobil 1 Motorsport 15W50 whcih quietenned it slightly and confirmed it was the tappets as it come and go..

Then tried Motul 300v Competition and the tappets have been silent from then on.. now at 151,000miles and still smiling (touch wood) the motul made the mobil 1 seem like wee wee.

Neil,

Yes was a little too late last night!

PS: My 550injectors I now run are very loud.. it sounds like someone is tap dancing under there and is distictly different to tappets.. the tappets when you rev the car and let the throttle off continue to tap and the taps slow donw in frequency obviously with engine rpm dropping, the injectors stop as the fuel is cut and therefore they inject nothing.
