Question six speed box probs

tried this in drivetrain , with no feedback, i have an my o1 sti v7,with six speeder. trouble is when it is cold and running, but just rolling up to a junction it is very stiff reluctant to go from second into first. then when it is warmed up it is fine but going from first into second there is a noise, the same as when you change gears in a car without the engine running and the clutch disengaged. i/e sat in your dads car as a kid going through the gears when he is washing it on the drive, yes that noise, is this norm, or the oil grade (factory at mo) or something more sinister? car has done 14000 miles and is a jdm sti v7 wagon. thanks webby

Mine does it on this Uk one i have, even with Redline Heavyweight Shockproof oil in. Once oil is warm in the gearbox, its fine.

My JDM one was as smooth as anything though.

Very curious, but not concerned.

Sounds just like mine (MY02 STIUK).
Difficult to get to first whilst moving and a very solid Clunk - clunk between gears
