PE Remap of MY97
After doing a search I came across this quote from a source that shall remain nameless!
Does anyone know if this is still the case? I really wanted a custom map but at a similar price.........
I have asked PE but no reply as yet.
"Power Engineering, I think their mapper is actually working for ecutek full time now, so they do not have a anybody how can do a custom map from scratch, They have a range of default maps available which they can then slighty alter for your car. for example they probably wouldnt have a map if you had a hybrid turbo or bigger injectors or something."

Yes, that is correct as I have found out. I checked everytime I bought something new if it was compatible and that they could remap to suit, each time they said yes.
I contacted them to book car in and guess what, they don't have a map for my turbo and combination of mods.
I strongly advise anyone who is looking for an ecu upgrade for 97/98 car to consider spending that bit extra for a complete replacement unit which remains mappable for further mods/adjustments.
My PE phase 1 ecu is for sale after Mon 26th. Someone I know has first refusal if they don't want it then it will be up for grabs.
Mapped for 1.1bar on super unleaded with full decat and induction kit MY98 the car made 286bhp 255lbsft
If you are only lightly modding your car with standard off the shelf parts VF series turbo etc then this upgrade would do the job.

I was going to go with a PE remap on my MY97, but in the end I went for an Apexi Power FC mapped by Andy F, similar sort of price all in but a much better option.
