There are a number (10+ that I'm aware of) of std internal UK and WRX cars out there running 380+ bhp without issue, one common theme is that they are all running a bigger turbo which keeps the internal pressures and temperatures down in comparison to screwing the guts out of a small turbo. Typically 380bhp is achieved at 1.2-1.3 bar. They are also observing the original rpm limit.
I guess that David not having seen them is a good sign
If the maximum revs are controlled, the rods will be fine and if the tuning is correct the pistons will not overheat or be damaged by det.

Standard UK pistons or rods will not take that power [ either 350 or 380
the person im getting the turbo from has over 400bhp on standard uk internals plus i know a few peeps sitting around the 400 ish figure with no probs on standard internals

Maybe i've been lucky, who knows, but compressions are still the same, no smoke and catch tank has barely enough oil in it to cover the base and its been in for many months now, but as Andy says less boost must surely be kinder to the internals?

alan i never track my car and it isnt a daily driver, plus my car car very rarely gets its full boost as my lass has meniere's disease which means if i boost my car when shes in she,ll be ill for days, so mine is a very safe car
