Default wrx limiter

When a wrx is imported into this country , it is limited , but wondering if its a speed limiter or rev counter limiter they have , the reason i ask is at about roughly 4 to 5 th revs my cars doing 112 mph in fifth gear ,but when accelarating hard through the gears my engine seems to cut at about the same sort of rev range , Does this sound like a fault or is it the rev limiter if it has one , done a diagnostic with the help of the connectors underneath the dash but no faults found , the bit thats frustrating is not the 112mph max speed but the accelerating to get upto that sort of speed as engine is cutting at 4 half to 5 thousand revs , oil level ok, solenoid clean etc checked the car fully no cracks in tubing etc new plugs etc all ok , anyone any ideas as to what it could be ,,,,,,,thanks
