Air Filter query - original vs HKS induction
Today, went for a little blat and got overboost at 4K which upset me quite a bit.
My car has scoobyecu, dp decat, HKS induction and Baileys VTA DV.
A friend changed his Induction over to the original box and it seemed to help. I've just fitted mine and its 'seems' to have worked after a 40 mile blat.
My question is, if I get a performance air filter which produces more air flow, will that bring back overboost (if i've managed to be lucky enough to have really sorted it LOL)??
Also, which running at 90 in 4th the car is bolting back and forth, whereas with the indiction never had this at all. Any ideas?

all i know is that it has been proven that induction kits destroy air mass meters. i had a blitz sus power non oil impregnated one and gained no power at all. it sounds awesome but they ruin the maf meters. thats why i took it off and sold it. leave the standard air box on. its good for at least 300 bhp.

So the MAF has no chance then
Definately miss the sound of the induction roar - that was the best part. But I can miss it for safety.
Think I'll get an ITG filter - the search option shows alot of people recommend them over the others.
Fingers crossed it has gone though - overboost is nasty.
Cheers for the reply Dan.

The two Bob Rawle reccomended are the STI and K+N panel filters - there was thread recently where a lot of guys were opting for the STI paper type filter. Scoobymania sell them.
ITG panel filter has a reputation for the gunge it's impregnated with to possibly cause problems if the gunge gets sucked onto the MAF itself,
Cheers Cal
