Now that i'm looking at engine mods. i've decided that 300bhp is where I want to be. But is this obtainable with just a ECUTEK remap or do I need to do more than this??? If so what, and typical prices would be good if anybody knows.... OR better still if anyone is running at 300bhp with a MY03 WRX or knows of anyone...

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

I'm running 300bhp on a 03 WRX.
With the following done to her,
SR30 rollerbearing turbo
Blitz front mount
Blitz sonic induction kit
larger up pipe
Full Blitz De cat and down pipe
Uni chip ecu
This gave me 298bhp, I now have changed a few areas,
Fitted a STI 9 btm end
Equall length manifolds
larger fuel pump
STI injectors 550cc
lightened fly wheel

She goes for a re map in the next two weeks once I have time to take her into the mappers> Then I'm looking for 360bhp as this is the max I can get from the turbo.

PE reckon on getting about 275 - 280 safely with a full de-cat and an ecutek. For more than that you are going to need a bigger turbo, fuel pump, injectors etc.

Also you mention new turbo's where do these come from?? Also does having a de-cat affect your MOT etc. when its due???

Sorry, but by a VF30 do you mean a turbo??? What price, age condition etc, etc....
