Default Help... (Fiat Punto)

1995 Fiat Punto 75SX (Multi Point Injection model)

Hope someone on here can help - I'm having a spot of bother with my car...

On Saturday afternoon it started to run rough - acceleration was very "stuttery", and to listen to, it sounded like it was running on 3 cylinders.

I initially thought of the obvious and asumed it would be a lead, or plug problem but after replacing them today the problem is still there. The warning light referring to the Injection System also came on today which has totally thrown me...

Any ideas? Failing that does anyone know of any cheap garages round the Bournemouth/Poole/Christchurch area?

Many Thanks,

K.

It sounds like you've got two choices.

1. It could be one of the coil packs.

2. Possible headgasket.

Hopefully for it's one of the coils as they are only about £30 each.

Hope this helps

Thanks very much for the replies guys...

N_Collins,

You're not the first to suggest a coil pack - evidently it's a fairly common issue with earlier Punto's. Would this cause the Injector Light to come on though?

Don't think it's a HG problem - the car run's ok with the exception of the misfire - no overheating/mess in filler cap which are normally indicative of a HG failure

Wonder Wagon - replaced the spark plugs yesterday morning - no joy

Many Thanks,

K.
