Default Running Hot?

hello all.

i have a uk my96 with a few mods(scooby ecu/k&n induction/gruppe-s header/up pipe/decat syatem(full)/uprated clucth)....FMIC due soon...

since changing the headers/exhaust etc..i have noticed the fan comes on a lot more..not loosing water and temp gauge reading normal....

could the mods have caused it run hotter?
any advice would be much appriciated!

Have you wrapped the headers? They run very close to the bottom of the rad so maybe could be the prob. Also has the car been 'mapped' to accomodate the headers etc as they could cause the car to run lean, again resulting in greater engine temps!!

Just thought of something else, when I fitted my headers, there is some wiring that is clipped to the bottom of the rad, which I had to rotate 180' to hold the wiring away from the Headers. I have read somewhere before I think that their wiring had partially melted, causing trouble with the fans!!
I don't think that this is your problem tho if the fans are intermittant, but worth checking/rectifying if not been done
