Default Blue Smoke on Cold Start Up

Just noticed that the scoob seems to be knocking out a little blue smoke on start up from cold.
It clears pretty soon , and once warm seems fine

Any ideas? Anything to be concerned about?

o o i think it could be mecahnical damage best get it get checked out, blue smoke is definantly not good! i think it means before the engine is througly circulating the oil, there seems to be some mecanical damage and it pumping out blue smoke then it will disapear when the oil is recirculating..............do i make sense?

ok............are you using correct grade of oil?
is your engine oil low or over filled?
try and do a compression test to make sure there is no damage to piston

hope i helped ...........if not just ignore me .....

Sounds to me like valve stem oil seals or turbo seals.

It will get worse with time, ie. puffing smoke at idle when hot and on de-acceleration.
If it's turbo seals it'll smoke on boost aswell

But there's time to get it fixed, without worrying

HTH

Like Mark says it is most likely oil coming down the valve stem after longer periods shut down. Not a big issue until it gets much worse and that could be months or years away. Keep an accurate check on the oil level, preferably on the same flat spot each time.
When hot, look in your mirror on full throttle and if it is not there stop worrying.

Thanks Harvey.
I will keep an eye.
Have been watching the progress you have made over the last couple of years with your wagon. Would love a spin in it , if your ever back down seeing Bob (Wilts/Oxon) at all.
