Prodrive ECU
Get on a dual carriageway in 3rd at 40 and put your foot down whilst counting the seconds to 70mph, like 1000,2000,3000, etc. If you count past 4000, you haven't got a PPP.
It's a very vague method of measuring, but the most fun
I imagine looking at the circuit board may be the more difinitive way of finding out.

Alan,
I have a MY00 PPP ECU and it has a pink STi badge stuck on the top of the ECU cover. My standard ECU has a lime green badge which has no STi emblem on.
I don't know whether this applies to MY98's though.
Hope this helps.
Damian.

Fosters, I like that method too except I go from 30-70 from 2nd to 3rd and usually am just saying four and don't get to say thousand. Does this mean my 30-70 is 4.5secs
PPP DP K&N. Oh she goes....

Your method will not work with a MY98 PPP car. We have yet to see a MY98 PPP car with more power than a STD car. Even the mags found the STD car quicker.
My MY98 PPP car had a STI ECU cover.

The ECU is located under the passenger side carpet. Lift up the carpet where the passengers feet go, then you will see a cover. Unscrew and remove the cover and you will see the ECU.
