hi i fitted a bleed valve to my 93 wrx
it was fitted to the pipe that goes to the solenoid valve i had problems with overboost
mostly 3rd gear 5500revs+ so i removed the bleed valve it still overboosted so i had the ecu reset by a garage and it still overboosted any one know what could be wrong i was told it could be the solenoid valve that is knackered.

loads of posts on this if u have a look
seems that oil can get in the solenoid
people recomend cleaning it out and the pipes with brake cleaner . think i read u can connect the green connectors under the dash , this will cause the solenoid to pulse
then squirt some brake cleaner in
loads of posts on resetting the ecu rather than getting a garage to do it
if memory serves me right connect the two black connectors and the green connectors
under the dash ,turn ignition on , press throttle to floor return it to halfway hold 4 2 seconds , start car and drive of till check light comes on turn ignition of and disconnect connectors or just disconnect battery 4 over half an hour
i would check this info first but i think its right

hi i have tried most of the things you suggested i reset the ecu with the wires under the dash i also had it reset with a proper subaru tool i took the solenoid valve of and sprayed carb cleaner into it put it back on and joined the green cables under the dash and sprayed more carb cleaner into it i may try this again because the engine was not running when i was cleaning it so it maybee wasnt pulsing when i tried the car again it was ok for a bit then it overboosted.

change it it's the only sure way to cure it and make sure the oil level is just below the top full mark
