Question

Here in the forgotten scoob village of the world (aka Athens) I found a new VF22 (a bit less scarce than pork pies here) going for GBP 720.00. Any better ideas people?
Cheers

Hi Stelio,

Here in Australia the VF 22 is a popular mod and is used by one of our most credible tuning firms as the basis for its 240kw or 320 Hp kit.
Have a look at

However they quoted me 2200 AUD for the VF22 and i can get one here for 400,000 drcs=2000 AUD so ...

Hi Panos,

What plans do you have on tuning an ECU to suit the VF22? Is there anyone here that can tune say a Link or Motec or Unichip or whatever?

Cheers,

Wrexy

So, Athens isn't the forgotten Scoobyworld!
Salonica maybe...
Cheers
Jim

PS: WREXY I would prefer to have my ECU mapped by Bob (UK) and spend (for example) 200.000 GRD for the travel, more than pay 50.000 GRD for the tuning here and 2.000.000 for a new engine after... I think you know what I mean!

Pano,
Give me a ring on my mobile 0977234800 to discuss the VF22 supply. How much did ya pay for the MoTeC chip? I ve been quoted today 750,000 (= 1200 GBP) dracs for Link+screen all setup but i know zilch bout the tuning experience of the guy. I am also trying to get hold of the P18 exhaust casing for the VF22 as Pat advices that this would spool the turbo faster.

I have already a Motec 48 Pro. Autoergonomics in Moschato is the only one that can tune a Motec In Greece. They are the dealers here in Greece. Mine was tuned from the person who came from Motec England to train the people here.
Now after 7000km everything is OK and I move to the next step to put a VF 22.

Regards

Panos

Cool

I do know what you mean Jim. I'd love to go to Bob Rawle. The only thing that worries me is those stone chips which will happen from those very many miles to get there.

Panos that's great. You were lucky to get the Motec tuned by the trainer. Auto Ergonomics modify quite a few Scoobs. Apparently he studied in the UK and deals with Graham Goode too. I have seen a couple of scoobs modified by Auto Ergonomics in Power Techniques magazine.

Has he done many Motecs on scoobs? How is your car on idle? Does it idle when cold like it did with the stock ecu? Hows the aircondition idle? How is the part throttle response? I'm asking coz I want to tune my car and want it done properly. These issues concern me coz any ECU is only as good as the tuner and the tuner needs experience to get it right.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Hi there,
I believe that the VF28/29's have a P18 exhaust housing.....this essentially gives you a VF24/22 hybrid. It may be easier to source a 2nd hand ex-STi VF28 and use that. Hope this helps.

Cheers

Stelios,
Check out this supplier from New Zealand.
I ordered mine on a Tuesday and it was in my hand Wednesday morning and cheaper than any other supplier.
Good Luck!

as I know Autoergonomics has done about 10 Motecs on scoobs. 3-4 were done by the english
trainer and the rest by themselves. The guy was trained in England and has a very good knowledge about Motec programming. When you start the car and is cold for the first 5-10 seconds you have to keep the engine about to 1500-2500 rpm after that the idle will be OK. Aircondition idle was a little bit of problem for me but after checking the A/C system and change the programming a little bit it's OK.the After the Motec, my car is a different car, the throttle response is better, the acceleration with 3rd, 4th and 5th gear is amazing.

Stelio
I will call you about the VF22 details as soon as I find some free time. I am getting married this week and I have freaked out.

Thank you all guys for your wishes.
My wife(after this Saturday) is a g-meter.
When she feels everything above 0,00001g acceleration, she screams
She always complaining that I care more for the car than her and all the money I spend is useless.( Of course she knows only the 1/10 of the I spend )
I wonder after the instalation of the VF22(together with the Mo48Pro)what she will do?
