Question

Ive just fitted a bleed valve to my95wrx and runs at a peak of 1bar however the gauge needle fluctuates between 0.6 and 1.0 bar in high gears and the car surges in acceleration and slows as it boosts and drops, its driving me crazy, wots the problem, is my wastgate solenoid dirty? if so how do I clean it???

Sounds as though the bleed valve is fitted to the wrong pipe, where is it installed.

(not that I would condone a bleed valve but sounds as though it needs sorting b4 some damage is done)

Talking

the valve is in the wastegate act. pipe it was used to pull the boost up from .8(i think) to 1 bar
the boost builds as normal on accel. then drops back then comes back up almost as though the wastegate actuator was staying open too long then closing too slowly.
its a smooth cycling rather than a violent on off sort of thing.
the system used works as its the same as run on the wifes legacy for the past 10k .its using known good bosch industrial valves.
was it doing it on your way home from bristol (i cant remember if you said it was or not)
disconnect it and try the car if its ok give me a bell cos ive got the new valve now(just in case its the valve thats died) and i'll drop it down to you and sort it.
