I recently replaced my paper filter with an ITG. Havent noticed any real performance difference but then it was only £50. was looking at the power eng. site today and noticed they dont recommend non-papers for subs-MAF sensor probs etc. has anybody had such problems? bearing in mind the lack of any real difference i dont see the point in upsetting my v complicated baby if there are tales of woe out there.
(apologies if this is a well worn thread)

do a search on MAF and ITG over the past year. My conclusion was that there was no evidence of any MAF failures related to ITG panel filters or K&N induction kits. So I went for the latter and do have a meaningful power increase, but also an interesting increase in noise.

I'm running an ITG and did experience a MAF problem ,but solved it by cleaning. Think it may just have come back again, though. Anyone know if I can use a K&N cleaning kit (bought by mistake) on an ITG? Presume the cleaning fluid is OK, but is the oil the same?

The ITG doesn't use oil in the classic sense - it's a green goo sort of stuff.

If K&N still use the same elements as back in my old escort days, I wouldn't be using their cleaning fluid or oil on an ITG!!!

I *think* the ITG is designed for to be replaced once it gets too dirty.

Oh, I've never had a problem with ITG in 80k km's over two filters and two cars. You might get some of the green goo drop into the bottom of the air box....but this is the on the outside.

Had an ITG filter in the car for just over a year. No problems.
