Replacement Injectors for My01 Bug

Looking to move to TD05 on the above. Will STi 565 injectors be enough (with fuel pump, reg etc)? I presume these should be a straight swap with no mods necessary?

I was quite on the same way : VF34, Walbro fuel pump, STI 505cc injectors.
Though the ECUTEK vendor don't remap MY01 with STI injectors...
Be carefull...
I think you must keep the stock rings (gaskets ?)

Well, I know RB5Scott got 380 odd bhp on two different rollers using STi7 injectors with a TD05 (Garrett wheeled hybrid). After changing his headers, and remapping by Pat, he may well have been making over 400, but melted a piston before he could prove it. Based on that, I'd say they're OK unless you're after really silly power.

Ive been told to keep with my stock injectors and use a bigger turbo and to keep it like that as the ecu tek aint good enough to map new injectors ( or go motec) or it will become less driveable ie lumpy - this is buy the guy who mapped my my02 (powerstation- can not knock his work so far, the car is far smoother than it was standard)
but then I got told by TSL it would be fine so Im not sure who to belive

The car could run absolutely wonderfull even with 740 cc injectors after remapping with EcuTek tools!

it was powerstation... so if the ecu tek is so good why do all the big power guys move to motec, gems etc
as stated before I can't belive how my wrx drives after he mapped it's so smooth and bags of power - I ve heard that some people say after a ecu tek it became lumpy, but this is the opposite with mine, so I do trust what he says

Well, now I'm less sure 
Bob Rawle has recommended 550 injectors along with either TD05 or VF23 for the sort of power I'm looking for, which is very modest. I am sure Pat had told me that the ECU is quite capable of adapting to larger injectors on its own and I've also read that after an injector change the fuel consumption goes up for a bit and then settles down, with no remapping. So god knows.
I was looking at getting the injectors from the US as they seem quite cheap. Anyone know if there are likely to be any differences?

Tweaking the stocker is a cheap (good) way to add more fuel, but without a good maper (who agrees to map non-stock injectors)behind the laptop, it's useless !
Though spending $400 for brand new STI 505cc, is useless too !
A good friend of mine was running with stock fuel pump, stock fuel rail, stock FPR and a big Apexi 20g and he got 335ch on the rollers :-) with Apex'i AVC-R and S-AFC !
That was b4 fitting a full decat 3" titanium HKS...

Oh god Pavlo thats not my cup of tea at all. I don't even know where the injectors are let alone have the want to fiddle about with them
Will the Sti pink injectors do me 565cc from the US or should I wait around and and pick some up from the UK. Any confirmation as to whether a remap just to run the uprated injectors, fuel pump and regulator is required?

The 01 cars have 380cc injectors and so are much more of a problem. Ian probably thought that you were talking about a 99/00 car, since they are the cars that have 440cc injectors. Also 99/00 cars are much harder to tune with uprated injectors than an 01/02. This is probably where the confusion is coming from.

Of course you can remap for new injectors with EcuTek tools! While the newer software makes it seem easier on the face of it, it is likely whatever model year will require considerable tweaking as spray patterns seem to change too.....and it's not linear (especially if changing fuel pressure or regulator at same time), so global map changes don't cut it.

Bob Rawle had absolutely no problems EcuTeK mapping my MY02 bugeye with TD05, sti Injectors, Uprated pump and regulator etc..... I went for safety and future possible mods with choosing bigger injectors rather than maxing out the originals.

Midlife - so you went for the Sti 500cc top feed injectors? Or did you add more room for further mods and go for 640s? Sounds like you've been down the TD05 FE route? Wouldn't mind some pointers on suppliers/fitters if you have time, by email if you like.

I went the Bigger TMIC, Bigger injector, fuel pump, reg , TDo5 and "Guru Bob" TeK 3 route to give me safety and a bit of leeway if I wanted to add a few more bits. I tended to stay with people I had heard of to supply bits.......

I have my old set of sti7 injectors for sale! They were only in the car for 6months and barely covered 3000miles!
They will make 400bhp easily on a fuel pressure regulator!

I have to agree that I have been told that the STi7 pink injectors are good for at least 350 BHP with supporting mods.
I got mine brand spanking new in the plastic wrappers the next day delivery at £517......not cheap

Midlife, sounds like you have gone exactly the route I have mapped out for my car. Getting the larger top mount is proving the most difficult at the moment. How much was the new one you picked up? Did you also have the 3-port boost solenoid fitted that Bob recommends? Thanks for the info

Price is 390 dollar + 30 dollars delivery which works out at 300quid with all the taxes and vat paid.
Mine arrived a couple of weeks ago

Deep breath....the cost of a new Sti 7 top mount was about £500 ish Plus VAT including the metal Y piece to convert the WRX to the Sti. I couldn't get one from Grade A, Scoobynet or e-bay at the time. I did go for the 3 port solenoid.

I've just pick my 4 STI505cc from a mate who ordered them by mistake.
Got them for 350€ circa £241
Also got the walbro 255lph fuel pump for 108€ / £75 & the VF34 for 845€ / £582
Got all from Gruppe-S
For a better TMIC, I wouldn't buy a STI ! I'd rather go for the Hyperflow : $800 + shipping / taxes
Anyone knows if Power Engineering are on holidays ?
I still don't know if they will remap my car ...

Sounds like you've picked up a load of great bargains there.
Why not an STi IC? I only want to go for top mount and I won't buy a new one. Now I've seen the Hypreflow site and their top mount, I'm starting to drule

For $25 more, the Hyperflow if bigger, better and has more efficency, due to his less pressure drop.
Stock intercoolers are known to have up to 3psi pressure drop and aftermarket (Hyperflow, APS, MRT, etc) only 1psi !
