Started getting this very strange tapping noise in 3rd gear yesterday.
Car is a 2000 P1 with 47K on the clock.
Only happens in 3rd, rest of the gears are fine.
Sound stays the same volume, but increases in frequency as the revs climb.
Can't decide whether it's just one of those annoying rattles, or there is something seriously wrong with the engine / gearbox.
Anyone got any ideas.
Cheers
Chris

Chris,
You've probably shagged your gearbox, which is absolutely amazing considering you drive like a pansy!
Try going over 3,000 revs every now and again !!
On a serious note, I bet you're pleased you got that extended warranty...
Mark.
