Question

Thinking about fitting a Forge unit to my UK99, has anybody got one - any feedback on them would be appreciated.

I know that there has been a lot of talk about atmo valves afecting the MAF sensor, but according to Forge's website, it will not harm the MAF sensor - is this correct?

I haven't got one on my P1 as it would affect the warranty.

Anyway, I am sure if I did have one , especially the vent to atmosphere type, I wouldn't have had any problems .

Thanks

Russ

Ask them to put in writing that if the car does suffer MAF failure they will sort it at their costs - see how quickly they change their tune!! If they dont then go for it!!!

A Forge recirculating dump valve won't do any damage. Recommended.

I'd love to have a vent to atmosphere on my sti5 with Link

I currently have an internally venting forge

The master (Bob) says dont do it - so I aint

I dont want problems.. regardless what some ill informed moderators think about Motec or Link being ok cos it bypasses the MAF.....

Hi Matt

I have a Forge dumper on my MY96 and its great. I cant see how it can have any effect on the MAF...I have had none

It has a foam filter around the vent port which you can take off if you want more noise or visa versa.

Got it from Falkland Performance....they were cheapest by far

Hi Matt
I have a Forge Re-circulating valve on my MY00. It fits and works with no problems at all.
I can't say I've noticed any difference apart from a quiet whoosh, not the usual dump valve sound!

I Have a MY97, with the FM DV to Atmos I have done over 15k miles excellent, I must tell you I did have a problem with the first one as it was dumping more air than the norm, the reason for this is that through the holes in the unit you get dirt/dust going in mixing with the grease etc and sticking the piston from closing fully, this can make you run lean. Another problem is that the spring they some times have supplied is the wrong one, stiffer than normal. In that case the piston will not open properly, will drive like carp.

So what I suggest is make sure if buying a FM DV make sure you get the blue spring in side not the red one and get the filter that goes round it to stop any muck going in.

I hope that helps
