My mate has a '93 WRX which appears to pink when on boost. the sound has got worse since he fitted a stainless 'zorst from the turbo back. its was on PE's rollers the other day and they couldn't detect pinking. it appears to be the wastegate rattling. if you pull the actuator arm off and play with the wategate arm it rattles inside, just the way it sounds on boost. is this a common problem?? any ideas why its doing it and how to fix it??

many thanks,

Rich

Why its doing it: Wastegate paddle is loose..
Speak to a turbo specialist tbh, i am not sure if the material can be welded but it may be a possibilty that you can get the paddle welded to the arm to stop it flapping/rattling..

IMHO it may be worth getting it sorted before the paddle comes off.

He didnt let Lee touch it, did he Rich?

Never heared of the problem on a scoob or oeterwise but the best bet would be to fit a SH Actuator and be done with it.
