Unhappy

I own an STi V3 Type R. When the car is idleing (hot or cold) there is a slight knocking noise coming from around the right hand cylinder head (when viewing car from front). The noise does become less obvious when hot but is still there. I am using Mobil 1 Motorsport oil 15-50W. Could this be the tappets and if so are they hydraulic and can any adjustments be made to them? Any advice would be grateful

i have the same trouble on a 93 legacy these were known for noise tappets.I was told I had to live with it. I tried a product called "super roo lifter free" from my local dealer and this did help.I now only get the knocking when the car is warming up.
they are hydraulic and if its really bad you could get a head rebuild. but as my dealer said "it could come back at 300miles or 3,000miles.....

hope this helps

STi's have Solid lifters, they may need re-shimming?
