INTERMITTENT `CHECK ENGINE` NO BOOST!

The car in question is a 94 WRX RA.Today the check engine light came on with an immediate loss of boost.After about 5 miles of driving out went the light and power returned to normal.The problem is intermitent.ANY IDEAS!?
I cant take the car to the local scoob garage ,being a WRX.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Wayne,

You need to read off the ECU error codes to see what is causing the error.

It's a five minute job to check the codes, details on what to do can be found on the website below:

Wayne I had this happen to MY93 WRX. Turned out to be the boost pressure sensor had failed. Do the diagnostics check and see what it tells you.

i had the same with my 93 wrx for no reason the check engine light came on and the car went into limp home mode, only when i slowed right down or stopped did it go off. i changed the coil packs with no effect, then finally took it to power engineering, who changed the lamda sensor and they also found a problem with the teeth on the speedo head, when both were corrected it cured the problem.
