Question

Hi,
I'm going to be replacing the exhaust on my MY00 Turbo. I've seen pictures of the Milltek exhaust but haven't heard anything else about it. Can anyone comment on quality / power / sound?

Thanks.

got the milltek 3/4 (catback) system on my MY98 wagon. Very nice, deep, offbeat sound, (makes it sound a bit like the old Legacy rally cars) - seems like a bit more torque, too. Also, the engine seems much keener to rev, although I haven't detected any increase in top end. Cabin noise has increased slightly, but its worth it for the sound alone. IMO, build quality is excellent.

I'm in the Reading area, if you'd like to have a listen....

Yes, but to a completely different spec. The Miltek (2.5") one is a more 'live-able with' option, the SM version (3") is more performance orientated.

I've had a Milltek back box on my car (UK98) for nearly 2 years now, and love it to bits It seemed to improve the performance of the car a bit, and sounds lovely!

I tried the mid section about a year ago, but it din't seem to make any difference to the car at all.

At the beginging of the summer I got the S/S downpipe, and that made a huge difference, as expected, then a couple of months ago I had a S/S mid section fitted on a wim...Oh my god! The noise is...awesome...and the perseved performance difference was almost as much as the downpipe

It seems to me that the resonator box in the Milltek centre section is as restrictive as the Cat that it was meant to replace...

Buy one, they sound fantastic. Given my time over agin Id do it. Very rallyish, looks good too, not too big/intrusive.

I agree with RichieC, they are not too big or intrusive.
I have one and think it looks better than most others. Noise wise its reasonably quiet with the resonator in the centre section. Suits me and my naggin' missus, but the deep bass sound gets my wee girl to sleep most easily.

Wouldn't change it, just need downpipe now to lower the torque curve a bit.

Got the downpipe now, what a difference. Much better mid range and top end. Its a non twin dump job but is ace. More deep noise from exhaust at lower revs, is very loud when your revving hard, but seems the same level of noise when cruising as i've not had to turn the stereo up.

Well worth it

Its a scorpion downpipe, cheap and fits to a standard mid section or in my case my Milltek mid section.
