pipercross induction kit fitted - initial thoughts
#1
Out of interest I thought someone may find this useful -
I fitted my pipercross kit I bought from Jondel motorsport (top blokes) on Saturday.
No probs fitting it - took about 45 mins.
My only worry was the two hoses that were initially clipped into the air box, looked like they may rub on the cone filter assembly. In an attempt to alleviate this, I've bought some flexi radiator tubing from Halfords this morning, which I'll cut into a suitable length to wrap around the two said hoses.
During the test drive I was a bit alarmed to find the acceleration hesitant in places - kinda a bit surgey, and lacked the usual patented scooby-pull.
I thought that maybe resetting the ECU may help out, so I did the old green connector to green, and black to black..etc.
Well, I pleased to say this seems to have cured it! Whether it should have made any difference I don't know, but I thought I'd give it a shot - and all is now well.
Great sounds when accelerating and changing gear now! (How sad am I :-] )
Power seems to be on tap all the way upto the redline now, but this may just be wishful thinking. Still, who cares - it the placebo seems to work, I'll keep taking it.
