Newbie turbo question
#1
I recently bought a 95 WRX. It has a nice lottle turbo guage in it. When I accelerate flat out the guage rises to 0.8 Bar at the most (the guage only goes up to 1). Does this mean that I am "running 0.8 Bar of boost"?
If so does this seem reasonable? I seem to remember higher fiures than this being spoken about before.

Rikki,
Early cars run between 12-14psi normally.
It works out that 0.8 bar = 11.76psi which allowing for the gauge not being 100% accurate is about right.
If you want to increase the boost, you will need to replace gauge as your first step.
It is possible to raise the boost slightly using a boost controller or bleed valve although the fuel cut safety mechanism will kick in at 15.5 psi.
