PRODRIVE OR SCOOBYSPORT?

I've got a ppp'd sti8 but want a bit more growl, if i fitted a scooby sport "haywood & scott" backbox would it give desired "growl"?
Thanks in advance (hopefully)

I value the warranty very much. I can't see what difference a slightly more throaty back box (in preference to my prodrive) could make, arn't the sensors further up the pipe and the fast flow cat would still be fitted.
excuse my ignorence (if any)

If warranty isn't an issue, you are probably better off swapping the centre section for a ScoobySport centre pipe. It is decatted & is a straight through pipe so should improve the noise

I thin i'll try the "stand on the pavement and listen" technique :-). I might even save some money.
The carrots thats been wagged in my face is I've found a scoobysport (haywood & scott) backbox for about £160. My obsessivness is saying buy it buy it buy it!
I think my dealer would turn a blind eye to a back box in the event of a claim. If it was something bad i.e engine i would revert back to standard.
This would not be a moral issue for me as a the prodrive back box is non restricted as would be the new one.
thanks & wha' ja reckon?

I`m about to have the PPP fitted to my03 STI8 and i am going to fit my Blitz backbox back onto it and if it sounds anything like it sounds now in standard form then the results should be pretty interesting.

Timbow, i would really be interested in hearing your opinion once you have ppp'd and have the blitz on!

That's partly why I wouldn't go for the PPP as it is pretty quiet and IMO the backbox does not improve the aesthetics.
Is the resonator section also retained after fitting the PPP kit?
I wouldn't think you should have any warranty problems with a backbox change. It would be easily swapped in the remote chance you needed to anyway.

It makes it sound lovely, just like a Subaru should.
I used to have a 98 turbo with a full Blitz system, it sounded ace.
Top quality too, looks the dogs.
Can`t wait till i get my PPP with this back box hooked up to it.
As for any performance increase i couldn`t say.
Buy one Mart i guarantee you won`t regret it.

Exhausts are funny things - one man's quiet is another man's deafening. Also you might hear a car a with nice exhaust drive by but may sound quite different inside the car where you would hear your own. Also differences when hot and cold etc etc
So what's my point Well it is hard to imagine what your perfect exhaust is going to be stright off but it is only a 10-15 minute job to swap one over. There are so many passing through here and ebay second hand, just get one, fit it see how you get on and you can always resell it for similar money and fit the old one back later on. Would suggest the Scoobysport is a good place to start being quite loud but not mental. Go for it. Can always pop the old one back if you want to go for some warranty work but most dealers not bothered. I have an aftermarket backbox and recently had an electrical fault fixed under warranty no prob's.
