This morning the car was very jerky when cold, it's sometimes like that so I ignored it and sure enough once it warmed up it dispappeared.
However when I got my first chance to use the engine the turbo seemed missing in action and it was spectatularly gutless on the motorway.
Later checking reveiled that it didn't want to rev, almost like a cylinder was out but it idled ok but slightly lumpy.
After ringing Park Lane they got me to disconect the Mass Air Sensor (as a test) and run the car for a couple of hundred yards without it, a complete bag of nails and wouldn't rev beyond 4K.
After reseting the ecu it seems a lot better and it revs cleanly but it's still rough and not all the power is back. Also I think the oil temprature is a lot higher than normal (e.g. the timer has suddenly decided it needs over a minute to cool down for no reason).
Any ideas?

AlanB, just a sergestion but try changing the oil filter this is regards to the timer wanting more time, it could be that the oil's a bit knackered and cloged the filter, also with the poor runninng it does sound like your loosing a cylinder try cleaning the plugs, if they've got a spare set might be worth changine them.hope this comes of some help.Rik.c

Thanks Ric,
chaning the oil and filter is an idea.
However changing the plugs on this car is a tad tricky as they are special platinum thingies behind bolt-on plates and they are even more tricky to get your hands on!
I do think the coil packs attached to the plugs are favorite for culprit there appears to be no easy method of proving it...
