Exclamation what could this be? please help!

Hi peops, hope alls well

Well iv come across a bit of a problem.... My 98 STI has a knocking problem, now first of my clutch is slipping very bad "new one getting fitted this week" now would that cause a knocking noise? when underload the tick/knock stops, or should i say quiten down alot. If i get the new clutch and use some type of "seafoam" and inject it through the vacum to clear the carbon build up, do you think that may stop the issue? Boost is fine, just this tick/knock on idle. and only seems to be when the cars warmed up. anyway heres a link to a little vid i made of the noise.....

Thanks all in advanced

Could be anything to be honest - usual suspects would be a Loose/worn front pulley or a worn Timing belt tensioner.

I would get it checked ASAP by a Specialist/Main Stealer to be safe.

mine makes that noise on the same side as yours but mine only does it for a couple of mins when cold so may be valve related

hmmm maybe? but when i start mine from cold theres no noise? just your usuall boxster engine noise, only happens when its warm, you cant hear it inside the car "normal driving / boosting etc" which made me belive it was maybe carbon build up from 95ron, previase owner used for about a month or so while out of work, and due to a dodgy clutch, "1st gear nps atall 2nd,3rd,4th,5th just slip till about 5 1/2k maybe 6k rpm, "only done this once to see how bad it was slipping" thats why i was maybe thinking its a mix of both, maybe the clutch bearing? im driving myself crazy here thinking the worst....... "rebuild" and i really hope it isnt that
