Default Overly-loud exhaust

Hi all, I realise I might come in for some criticism but here goes...

Original downpipe on my MY99 Sti failed a few months ago. As my Scoob was already fitted with a Japspeed centre and rear section I thought I'd put up with the 10-week lead time and get the front Japspeed bit with 100cpi sports cat.

I figured this would solve the MOT issue and wouldn't need replacing any time soon but there's a problem....

Not that it was quiet before but my Scoob had a really nice deep purr that sounded very nice. Now the tone has changed and got considerably louder.

Anyone know if there's a company that can manufacture me a stainless centre-section replacement 'muffler' to quieten her down again. Not fussed if performance suffers but at this rate I will be removing the stainless pipe for a new genuine Subaru part to get the purr back.

any custom exhaust place should be able to cut and shut a resonator into your system

resonated = quiet

de-resonated = angry neighbours (like mine)

maybe look on scoobyworld website as they sell resonated center sections but not sure if it would mate up to your downpipe/back-box

If you tell us your location, I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction. If you are anywhere near Essex, you coukd try H&S. They did a custom back box for me a few years ago while I waited.

Just looked in my 'box of bits' that came with the car and found one of these exhaust cone baffle things. Apart from the aesthetics its only got one fixing point = rattles.

Found a company about 60 miles away near parents that specialises in stainless exhausts for classics, going to ring tomorrow and ask if they can add a 'resonator' to my middle section
