I have a P1 with full decat and Blitz Nur exhaust and was thinking about getting the turbo and headers ported and polished.
This is going to cost me around £300 and was wondering if the gains would be worth it. I will be getting a uprated fuel pump and tek-3 re-map in the new year.

What are your ultimate goals? Maybe better off porting and polishing new turbo and headers before the remap if you want too much more. Also consider a catch tank of some sorts if intending to raise the boost considerably, again before the remap, it will allow a little more timing.

Kev - don't forget the quote given includes an H&S Upipe which will be lagged as well
Places like Scoobysport, etc charge in the region of £170 for the porting of the Headers on their own
Still, its your choice, just ask all the people in STi's wasted by a UK MY00 with full decat plus this conversion! (proof of the pudding is in the eating M8)

Cheers WUZ, how offshore?
Still trying to decide on this one. There doesn't seem to be much information on the subject and was still wondering what differences the up-pipe and P&P would do for me. (From searching in here the bhp per £ doesn't look good)
What my plans are :
Fit up-pipe and Port and polish headers and turbo. (possibly)
Upgrade Fuel pump and regulator
Tek 3 re-map.
My aim is to get to around 340bhp (safely). Whats the chances?

You truly are a superstar
That would be nice mate if you could do the others for me too. I'll have to bring them up (returning the Turbo to point of sale )
Multiple thread stuff too...i may talk to you about the external wastegate that you just posted. May have to change/modify the DP. (currently TSL one)

David: You stealing my pocket money. Huh, no beer this week then.
You could port the inlet manifold to the cylinder head ports but to do that it would be best to have the heads off and I doubt the effort could be justified for the gains that would ensue although this would be viable if you already had the engine stripped down.

Kev - after reading Harvey costing (this excludes costs to remove the parts, unless you do it yourself) my pricing is not bad at all.
The benifits of porting and polishing are good but don't really produce a power hike like fitting a D/P does. It is all about improving the mid-range thump and top and power of the car and the breathing NEEDS sorted for 340bhp.
It's your choice but you won't find many people to get you done what is on my quote in Aberdeen for the money I am looking for.
No pressure M8 - just trying to help get you the very best out of your car!
