ITG/RAMAIR/K&N .v. induction kit/cone filter
#1
I've been researching the virtues of having an induction kit (is this a cone filter?) fitted to an STi as apposed to a panel filter.
The only evidence I can find is on the dyno page, at

Induction kits are also referred to as cone filters, and as you may have seen from the dyno site, I am one of the people that ran with an induction kit as opposed to an uprated panel filter.
I also have only exhaust modifications on top of this, and my car managed more bhp than any other UK turbo with no ECU mods, PE or otherwise.
I had a Ramair before my cone, and can definitely say that the car feels much more responsive and willing now.
The fact that it makes such a great noise, which I love to bits, is simply a bonus. Fuel economy has also improved slightly but for me it was the aural experience I was after, and it complements the sound of my Scorpion system beautifully.
You're more than welcome to ride with me for a couple of laps to hear for yourself if you like.

Mark swapped his HKS downpipe for a ScoobySport item at the same time he changed his RamAir filter for a Pipercross induction kit, therefore nothing conclusive can be drawn from these figures regarding the performance of the induction kit alone.
