i am picking up a new impreza 2.0i sport on thursday as a company car.
Are there any upgrades available to increase the power of this 2 Litre normally asperated engine. I wanted a turbo but my budget wouldnt go that high.

Effectively the same initial mods as a turbo car..exhaust/filter/chip..then thats pretty much it..anything else would involve engine work.
I daresay getting the heads ported would make more of a difference on a n/a car than a turbo.
you're in the same boat as me though..why spend money on a car thats not yours ?

How much money do you have to spend ???
The filter/exhaust mods would only cost a few hundred pounds, and give a noticable improvement in throttle response and sound
Ultimately though, it isn't going to make a huge difference in power.
Rather than try to increase the power by much, you would probably better fitting uprated suspension and better brakes. This would make the 2.0 Sport a very fast A to B car.
You would not be able to win any straight line speed contests, but leave 99% of cars on the twisty bits, especially in the wet
I know which I would prefer
If you have a limited budget:
You can pick up a pre-owned turbo suspension set-up quite easily from someone who has upgraded to something better for a reasonable price. Also, you might be able to get a set of 4 pot calipers, discs & pads from an STi or 99MY car which has had a brake upgrade kit fitted. I'm not sure about the wheels though, as you might need the 16 inch rims from the turbo to clear the brakes (an ideal excuse to fit better tyres at the same time) ?
