Thumbs up

I've got one and love it!! It's just a bit of fun and only there as I've done most other things to the car already. Dark country lanes are great if your into the flash on every gear change and over run, also nobody, I mean nobody ever tailgates you for long!!!
The decision is entirly up to you though, I was a bit hesitent to the hole drilling, but then again, if you get fed up with it, 5 minutes with the mig welder will sort it out.
P.S. if you use octane booster the flames blue/white.
Bring on the derision and pxss takes, as its my car, I'll do what I like and so should you.

Can you turn them off (don't know that much about them )? If so why not go for it then you can see how the mood takes you

I'm with the good doctor on this one, its a p*ss poor idea....flamers just help to give the rest of us a bad image with other drivers.

Fast and Furious 2 in miami on Pinky/Pastel coloured cars. On film looks good but in the street just looks plain stupid. Even if you get away with it and it did look cool does the car match the kit? ie you pumping flames out then get whooped by a nova boy..???

Would rather buy proper mods for the car that help it make it a better car rather than a cosmetic change that dont really help you when driving.

Or Paint the car Pink or Lime Green - get neons and then flamer would be ok..sorry just my view ...

How about fitting a decent de-cat system and it'll make it's own flames?

Im doing it the full decat way but i'd say go ahead. Its entirely up to you! We have all heard the 'max power' jibes and I would certainly agree with them on an 'unworthy' car such as a corsa/saxo etc (along the same lines as Blitz/HKS stickers on 'em!) but on a scoob i'd still be impressed if you passed me throwing out flames!!!

Why pretend? Get the real thing!!! Put an ECU on capable of antilag control and you will get proper rally car style ones.

Not sure plod would be happy though if you burnt all his stickers off. lol

Ive got the full mongoose system and it flames quite a lot on its own, it surprised me. I think the flames look good, I prefer the fact that it does it without the kit. If you want it, go for it.

Can someone explain a few things.

1. Natural Flames (without a Flamer Kit) are obtained by having a full decat exhaust and a dump valve, True?

2. Flamer Kits also NEED a decat exhaust and dump valve, True?

So whats the difference....

Confused Scooby Owner....Pls help...

Ta.

You can get 'flames' with a decat (DV not necessarily needed), although these 'flames' are usually brief, violent & 'look' right. Following a decat car which is pushing hard with a hot exhaust looks more like a blue/orange constant glow from the exhaust with a crackle & pop (& flame spit) upon gear change.
Flamer kits look like you've got your bunsen burner all set up wrong & produces a silly looking flame that is obviously fake.

i.e. the 'real' one looks like you're driving a quick 'special' car, the fake one looks like you're driving a slow one with 'go faster stripes'.
All IMHO, of course
