Question

I'm thinking of pushing the boat out here and putting a performance back box on my MY99 wagon. I want something that is not to loud, looks good and wont affect my insurance.

Any ideas?

If you find a BB which doesnt affect insurance let us all know.

H&S are highly rated and not too loud.
Blitz are high performance V LOUD!

Barry

I've got this little pipe on my MY99 wagon ...

... it's a 2nd hand ProDrive BB. On it's own, it's not noisy when cold, and not that noisy when warm, but get it warmed up a bit and around 3K revs it 'thuds' very well. The sound it makes is enough to make people know a Scoob is around, but miles away from a Blitz, Firestorm or ScoobySport BB.

I put a ScoobySport de-cat center on a few months ago, and this has changed the noise. Lots of 'thud' lower down the rev range cold or warm, but still not that loud. Performance wise ... seems to let the engine rev a bit more, or give you more revs to use ... if you see what I mean?

Insurance (with Tesco) cost me an extra £45. This covers me for a 10% increase in engine power via exhaust mods. I doubt the BB and the centre will give me 21bhp extra ... but you never know

J.

I've got the same BB as fdpxfunix and agree with all he says. Ideal if you don't want anything too loud...

... and doesn't look like an Iraqi Super Gun sticking out the back!

Very nice, I have a scooby breaker near me, I think I'll pop round and have a look and see if he has any pro drive ones going.

Thanks.

if you want to upgrade to the full system in the future, it may be wise to consider what you would like as a full system?

that way you can match like with like,

...Ninja is very good value for money. Will look good if you want a 5" tail and wont be too loud, but will sound like a Scoob should. Put a De-Cat H&S downpipe on aswell and it will be louder and have a throaty roar.
