You know the problem i have with the search facility and you seen to be the man when it comes to tech probs......
I have a my99 with what i hope is a heatshield rattle.......I know there is a bolt missing which would appear to have sheered of...any ideas on a fix?

Flip, will people stop acting like I'm the only one round here who answers technical probs? Apart from anything else it's unfair to the stacks of other folk who have more experience than I do! 
If you're pretty sure it's heatshield and you've got an idea that the missing bolt is the cause, either get it welded or drill what's left of the bolt out, tap it smaller and put a bolt back in just to hold it.
Beyond that, have you tried tapping all the way round the heatshields with a screwdriver handle? Will probably show up any rattles, or bits of grit stuck inside which can cause the same kind of noises.
