Angry

I have a MY99 UK scoob, full de-cat, Tek 2.5 (John Banks) and a forge re-circ DV. Last rolling-road session at G-force was 255.5bhp and 244lb/ft torque without the tek ecu, then last weekend at powerstation I only managed 233 and 219 torque with the ECU!!! Any ideas on why? Seemed better at first but over the last two weeks or so the car feels slower as well as showing it is down. I can't feel any large judders, but the boost now only goes to around 15.5psi in fourth, which I know is low. The solenoid has been cleaned, MAF changed recently and the lambda has been changed, and there are no fault codes.
Can anyone help as I have just about had enough of problems and am starting to question my ownership of scoobies in general!

Have you checked your plugs?

Not since I have owned the car mate. Is that an option worth looking at? It would have been more obvious to me to check plugs if there was a misfire but to be honest I don't notice one?.

Powerstation rollers read low (for Subaru's), add 30 bhp to compare with GForce as an estimate. GForce are withing 10bhp of Power Engineering and are generally considered one of the more accurate rolling roads but its all pub talk. If the car feels flat then thats more a concern than what the numbers are.

cheers

ECU will gives its best running about 17.5 PSI in 5th gear when you get everything nice and hot. Assuming you check there are no leaks on the intake or exhaust side, a tweak of the actuator could make all the difference. Alternatively silicon intercooler pipes if not already fitted can often get the boost nearer to levels where the torque will be a fair bit better.

However, without looking at the car it is always tricky.

mmmm.
Thanks for the comments guys, but it is not the power figure that was bothering me, it was the low torque figure. The car has felt a little flat over the last few weeks and that is what concerned me more than anything. The run at ps simply confirmed this. I can't post the printout up as I don't have scanner access but I can tell you that at 4500 rpm the power curve flattens off quite badly, even dropping slightly before climbing again at 5500, then a final drop at 6000. If this had stayed nice and smooth then the power would have been closer to 260bhp. Best way to describe it is that from 4500 onwards I have two even camel humps on the graph.
The torque also drops off quite badly at this point.
hope this info helps!

Check the things I mentioned - they could all cause this.

Will check the exhaust as that is where my suspicion lies at present, I do seem to be getting more over-runs than usual especially when going downhill and off the throttle.
Anything else worth checking?

Leaks/splits, check tightness of clamps at each end, throttle body, holes in intercooler etc.
