noisy rear end

im new 2 this just baught my first import a wrx auto wagon. the rear end seems 2 me 2 be noisy the noise sounds a bit like noisy tyres or could poss be the diff has anyone had any similar probs?

Could well be tyre noise, as there is not a lot of soundproofing across the back,or is it a worn wheel bearing? Dont "usually" have problems with diff noise.

I bought an STI7 afew months ago and spent weeks convincing myself that there was something wrong with the rear bearings / diff.
There isn't, its just noisey, the back end soundproofing in my car is virtually non existant. You can even hear the brake pads on the discs from inside the car with the windows closed!
I put some carper underlay around the boot and it is a bit quieter now.
