Question

Hmmm, so if the car with MBC set on 1 bar goes like it has before or even worse that means someone has fiddled with the ECU!?

I hate when I don't know everything... It's first owner's car and nobody ever touched the ECU! Puzzled...

Thanks for all info!

SO how does then VF12 compares with TD04 or similar. I know it's bigger but does anyone knows what are flow rates etc.

Also what should be the case of heat soak on intercooler with legacy's chargercooler; i presume none, just more stable and efficient (and heavier and more expensive!?).

Reg.

How does the VF12 compare to TD04/5's etc and the more common VF series on STI imprezas?

Weird, cos mine arrived with a TD05 on it. Something to do with being last of the line, maybe?

the aust liberty had vf12, jap imports had vf8 or 10 depending on manual or auto vf12 is just a bit smaller than a tdo5, a tdo4 is about the same size as a vf10

standard legacy runs about 9 psi i was told, but not sure 100%

the IHI RB5 or whatever, is the VF12.

turbo_steve...you say yours poss had a TD05 as it was last in the line, what year is yours?
mine is April 96 on an N-reg, one of the very last, and it came with the VF12

No idea why mine had a TD05. Am GUESSIING it is because it was the absoloute end-of-line 94 registered car. Was certainly surprised when I took it off to put a TD05 on and found I already had one!!!

Standard mine seemed to surge upto one bar and then settle to 0.8Bar.

Cool

The Mitsubishi Turbos (TDO5 & TD04) have their model number written on them. Not sure about the IHIs.

Just wish I could solve my boost creep issues. Hmm.

SO do we have someone who knows something about turbos TD05/04, VF12 etc.?

I found out that ECU is standard, overboost function active for about 20 sec on full throttle is at 1bar, and then settles at 0,8bar. That makes sense why the car doesn't seem any faster with MBC; because it's not! It just picks up boost a bit faster and throttle response is a bit better.
