HI all
I got a turbo (MY00)a few weeks ago and Ive put a magnex bb and centre section on. Am I right in saying that I'm after taking of a cat off. Doesn't this give a power increase to my car and if yes, how much.
Does any one know does a K&N panel filter increase the power too
cheers in advance

complete de-cat is claimed by certain exhaust manufacturers to release about 25bhp, the K&N will allow your car to breath better but shouldnt release anymore BHP AFAIK

Hi Mack,
Induction kits are not reccomended for putting on MY00 cars as they can cause maff sensor failure. Do a search on it and you will get more information of the technical guys on here.
James.
p.s i have a MY00 as well and fancied putting one on as i have had them on all my cars, but decided against due to this reason.

Cheers guys
As far as I know mine is a decat centre section and 6x4 oval BB. It sounds class and will have a forge vta dumpvalve before the end of the week.
What kind of price does that ECU cost ?
Is there any other handy mods that can be done defore you have to go uprating components of the engine??

I have had a K and N 57i on my MY99 for a year now with no problems whatsoever. Its the only way I can flow enough air with my uprated turbo and Tek3. I would love to see the proof that they cause MAF deterioration and premature failure. I have seen many duff MAFs on cars that have never even been near a K and N supplier! In my oppinion (doesn't count for much) the K and N (or Green) is a relatively safe option. I don't doubt that Blitz and HKS induction kits can cause a problem because the filtration level they offer is cr4p.
As for the exhaust, forget what power it will give you. It doesn't matter. What matters is that you will be grinning for days afterwards!

Reading back, you were on about a panel filter.............CANNOT go wrong with one of these, although Green are supposed to be the best (yawn) at the moment.
