Yesterday evening my car started acting a little weird. The first thing that happened was that on the motorway when hitting 15.5psi on the boost gauge the car was hold back. It wasn't like a misfire hesitation at all. The knocklink was fine but the Lambda was telling me that it was running lean for full boost as it was only in the orange instead of all the way into the green.
My initial thoughts are that the fuel pump (Walbro) is playing up or that the fuel pressure regulator (standard) has been overpowered and is failing?
Has anyone had a similar problem and can give me any advice?
Thanks

For the first 5 minutes after starting it seems fine but it does it continuously after that. The car actually went into safe mode the other day for about 5 mins whilst driving
Might drop Steve a line

Running orange with KnockLink will normally make the car feel quicker rather than slower.
Just to confuse the issue
AC on? Scares the hell out of me from time to time I can tell you

UK MY95 so no AC
Still not sorted Steve If anything it's worse after checking for boost leaks, putting the re-circ back on, cleaning the MAF, cleaning the solenoid, re-setting the ecu It now holds back more & yet the boost now makes it to around 20psi on occasion with no knocking
It is now not running lean although when it holds back it occasionally drops on the Lambda. I'll show you tomorrow Steve.
BTW what happens when compression is lost? Just sprung into my mind as a thought...not a nice one...but a thought?

Mmmm could have done with that LOL
Well we narrowed it down to ignition or fuelling but the lambda suggested fuelling. We're now narrowed down to the fuel pump (not likely), fuel pressure regulator or injectors. Gonna replace the FPR tomorrow with a spare & see what happens?
Cheers for trying with the laptop Steve
